Worthy

Worthy

Recently I decided to serve in church and joined my church’s social media team. Our primary responsibility is to come up with inspirational visuals and text for announcements/as reminders of God’s love for us. Two days ago while on the bus home, I was praying for inspiration to create a visual. At one particular moment I suddenly decided to look out the window and saw “You are worth so much to him” on a billboard. God definitely has a sense of humour and, more than that, so much love for us!

I immediately thought of this verse: “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it” (Matthew 13:45-46). We are the pearl of great price, redeemed by the blood of Jesus. So much to be joyful about when we know how much we’re worth to Him!

You can buy Worthy on Society6 printed on diferent products (mugs/shirts/phone skins etc). I also made this visual into iPhone 4 (left) and iPhone 5 (right) wallpapers, so feel free to download them and be reminded of His love! Shalom.

Best of my iPhoneography II

Following my previous iPhoneography post, here’s part two. These pictures have been manipulated (and not just filtered) to create a slightly more surreal effect. I mostly use PicsArt, but have also used other apps.  Do leave a comment – I’ll be happy to answer any questions about using iPhone to do photo manipulations. Oh and, click the photos to enlarge!

And here are my photo “series”:

Best of my iPhoneography I

It’s no secret that I’m addicted to taking pictures with my iPhone. My poor Fujifilm X10 has been languishing in a corner because I usually prefer to carry around the more lightweight iPhone for pictures. A while back, my friend Cheryl at CherylKeit.com wrote a good post discussing the pros and cons of iPhoneography vs. camera photography. I am loathe to pick one over the other, but in terms of post-processing options, the iPhone wins because of the user-friendliness of its apps. I love digital manipulation but am terrible at Photoshop (admittedly because I haven’t put in a whole lot of effort), so iPhone apps are a godsend to me.

That said, here’s part one of my iPhoneography gallery; part two will showcase my iPhone digital manipulations and photo series. All these photos were posted on my Instagram account (linked to my Tumblr). Most of the pictures have gone through (rigorous) filtering. Enjoy!

iPhone wallpapers II

Here are more free iPhone wallpapers for everyone to download! I’ve posted them in the order that I made them! Most of them are for iPhone 5 except the last one (“Lemons are Better”) because I lost my iPhone and had to go back to using my busted up iPhone 4… Sad times. But at least Tayasui Sketches works fine on it! Be sure to leave my watermark on if you use these images, and if credit/link me if you use them on your site.

Okay I realise I haven’t posted any music I’ve composed up here. I shall have to remedy that…

Park

This is a series of pictures I took with my iPhone 5 at the park one day, based on the feelings and observations I had while there. The park I visited was the Bukit Batok Nature Park, a choice spot for peace and quiet near where I live in Singapore. I posted these pictures on Instagram as “Park series”, along with the accompanying poetry/words that were inspired by each picture. Do click on each picture to view it along with the words I’ve written – I’ll let them speak for themselves.
